A Small Service-Based Business Website

Visit Site

Aleta was struggling with creating a website that worked on mobile using a popular DIY website builder. Frustrated, she came to Universal Code for advice. We came up with a design that would work for every device, and emphasized the importance of adapting the website for a variety of abilities. Aleta knew that her services cater to an older population and agreed with our suggestion to prioritize accessibility.

Adaptable and Accessible

For many older adults, it is hard to read small text, so we used larger base font sizes and made sure our website is legible zoomed up to 400%. We used softer variations of white and black to ensure maximum contrast without the harshness that comes with pure black and white. Keyboard navigation is another popular way users can adapt around mobility issues, so focus-styling and skip links were used to make it easy to navigate. Semantic HTML is critical for website visitors that use screenreaders, and that is why we built the foundation to implement best-practices.

Easy to Update

Universal Code creates websites that are future-minded and easy to manage. For owners that are interested in making their own edits, the information architecture is created with novice usability in mind. Services can be updated in one area in the back-end, and changes will populate throughout the entire website automatically. Colors are used dynamically to enable site-wide adjustments in a matter of clicks.
