Freedcamp is a collaboration and communication tool used by Universal Code during the website build project.
Why
We chose to require all communications go through Freedcamp for two very important reasons.
- One Source of Truth. All communications regarding different topics will be organized and shared among all the relevant parties. These discussions will be the only source of official communications, and will be the source of truth should any conflicts arise.
- Organization and Collaboration. This allows all communications to be centralized to one location, and makes comment histories easy to organize and visualize. All parties involved in the website process will be granted access to the same line of communications, making it less likely details will get lost in email threads or side conversations.
Home Dashboard
When you log in, you will be taken to your dashboard.
You will see in the photo of the dashboard we have marked the areas that are the most helpful. View your project using any of the three following methods: in the top left corner that says “Choose Project”, by clicking the “View Projects” icon next to the Home Icon in the top center, or by finding your project in the Projects list to the right.
Project Navigation
Once you are in your Project Page, you will navigate using the menu to the left. By default you will start at the Tasks lists.
Discussion Threads
Because all communication will need to take place in Freedcamp, you will be using the Discussion Boards frequently.
Contribute to the discussion by adding your comment.
You can add a link to the text or add an attachment to your comments.
You can add your files directly to the comments, and it will be uploaded to the project files section.
Collecting Files
You can add or replace your website assets using the Files section. This is where you will add your logos, graphics, images and any other files that will be part of the website project.
Bookmark Pages
We recommend adding the Discussions Pages to your Bookmarks. This Bookmarks feature allows you to save the pages you’ll visit most often.
